Review: On the Run

On the Run On the Run by Jade C. Jamison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As soon as I read the dedication to heavy rock matriarch, Lita Ford, I just knew Jade meant business with this baby, and Kyle Summers' initiation into the musical world of rock was a journey that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

Kyle Summers is a girl with a passion. Her love of music one that has been with her for as long as she can remember. A daughter of two free-spirited parents whom spent many years travelling when she was young; schooling on the road didn't make way for many friendships. Kyle's guitar became more than an instrument, it became her companion, her confidente and her best friend. Self taught, she soon becomes well versed with the works of some of her favourite bands and a talent contest at her high school one evening, changes everything.

Vagabonds: On The Run is a coming of age musical journey written in the form of a personal autobiography. From parental break ups, to first love, heartbreak and new friendships, Kyle's story is far from lacklustre as she puts her needs and desires at the forefront at a very difficult time, proving that she may be young, but a woman with dedicated focus and passion that surpassed her years.

This is the first book in the Vagabonds story - a 'how it all began,' tale that had me turning the pages with relish and I'm very much looking forward to book two, to see where Kyle and her new band members go from here.

4.5 Crowns
