Well done Sierra Simone!!

This is a standalone contemporary romance. It comes with a extreme dose of the taboo... you have been warned!

Tyler Bell - or as he is known to most, Father Bell - is a parish priest. Serving his small community for the last 3 years, he entered the church to make a difference. He comes from a religious family who turned their back on the catholic church following the suicide of Tyler's older sister; who was abused by their priest for many years. For Tyler though, he felt he could right the wrongs in the church and he used the hurt from his sisters death and turned it into something positive. He takes his job and the sanctity of his vows seriously... until her!

Poppy Danforth is seeking something. She is unsure what that is, but she finds herself seeking it within a church. What she finds is a young priest willing to listen and offer her a solace, a calm her life needs at that very moment. But is this the calm before the storm? Only time will tell.

Two people drawn to each other. One is willing to break the vows that are so important to him, the other willing to be his holy sacrifice. It will be a journey of discovery for them both, and it will either be their defining moment or a mistake that could cost them everything.

WOWZERS!!

This book is amazing and so bloody forbidden. Although I wouldn't call myself especially religious, I still found this book taboo to the very max. Beautifully written and with obvious religious references, it was still easy to follow for someone that isn't particularly knowledgeable about the catholic faith. Yes, it is primarily a romance book, but this book also poses the question of whether celibacy works or is indeed necessary in the modern world. Does it not lend itself to scandal? And does it not also mean that parishioners lose out on men that love god and the church but are unwilling to sacrifice their whole lives for their god?

Tyler Bell is as dedicated to his god as a man of the church can be. Yes, he messed around a lot in his college years, but not once has he questioned his decision to enter the church or his celibacy. When Poppy enters his life he is intrigued by her. He cannot think of anything but her, and because this is told from his POV you get to feel every emotion, thought and the daily struggles he puts himself through. It is as angsty as you can get, but more than anything this book is sizzling hot!

I think we as readers have become a little desensitise when it comes to sex scenes of late. All I will say after reading Priest is that this book gets everything tingling and moist (I know... sorry TMI, but it is oh so true) Poppy is Tyler's siren and he is unable and eventually unwilling to avoid the magnetism between them. It is so tangible, it makes the hairs on your arms stick up.

I loved both characters. Tyler, well he is just this honest, god loving hottie. The struggles he has with his feelings for both Poppy and God, well he will just melt your heart. As for Poppy, she is a lost soul in search of an anchor. Yes, she is manipulative at times, but that comes through her inexperience with religion and the repercussions that their relationship would have. When that becomes clearer to her, Tyler's reputation and his commitment to the church and his parish becomes her main priority.

An amazing book and one that has shot itself into my top 3 reads of the year so far. This book has such a buzz about it, having now read it, I completely understand why. This is a new take on the forbidden romances that have swamped our ereaders in recent months. Unlike some though, this read lives up to its promise. It is incredibly hot, well written and poses honest and current questions on how the church moves into the modern era. Do NOT be put off by the religious element, this book is so much more than that. Well done Sierra Simone, this book is an absolute cracker!

AN DEFINITE MUST READ!!
