Review: Pennies
Pennies by Pepper Winters
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Again we get another amazing tale from our Queen of Darkness, Pepper Winters!
Pennie$ is the painful story of Tasmin. She is a privileged girl, her mother’s puppet. She is raised to behave a very certain and appropriate way. So technically, she has never lived. She just exists.
Then, when you think your life is not all that great… it gets worse… and I mean it gets to the point where you wish for death. Pepper takes us through her kidnapping and existence with great tact and finesse. She does not dwell on the details of the hell Tasmin is living in. She cleverly presents her story with letting your imagination fill in the gaps of those details. Brilliant! Your mind can be soooooo much more detailed in imagining the horrors Tasmin is living through.
Right about the time that Tasmin has literally given up… enter Elder. Oh, but we must take a pause. He is not the Knight in shining armor riding in on the white horse to save the damsel in distress…. ohhhhh no! He has some very very dark qualities. Basically a devil of another name for Tasmin. But this devil… touches her soul.
I will not go into details of this story… just know this. It is a love story. A very twisted and unconventional love story. But what else would you expect from Pepper’s dark mind??? lol
Can’t wait for the rest of the series… I have a feeling the journey is going to be amazing!
