About Princess Kelly
Kelly
Name: Princess Kelly 'the Kindlesessed'
Nationality: British
Age: Hahaha, yeah...Jog on!
When not having her head stuck inside a book, or in her case, a kindle fire, Kelly is known to live on Facebook and actively tweet-stalk her favourite rockstars and authors. Married with two children, 8 and 5, she has spent the last 17 years of her life working in trade publishing.
Hailing from the cold and rainy shores of England, she was born in the City of London, and later relocated to the county of Hampshire where she grew up.
She married her own Rockstar six years ago, although he never hit the 'bigtime' and has now lost his long flowing locks, the days of being young and living fast is what drives her passion for escaping within contemporary adult romance books, especially those that involve leather clad, long haired rockstars and bikers. She's also a lover of paranormal romance and has a weakness for anything Vampire.
Finding a love for reading started very early for Kelly, with her favourite childhood book being 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe,' she appreciated the magic of good storytelling and progressed to more adult orientated novels quickly, having read the Flowers in the Attic Saga by Virginia Andrews by the age of just 13.
She found her true passion in her early 20's with paranormal romance. Stumbling upon the Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon she was immediately hooked, which then followed onto works by the likes of J.R Ward, Nalini Singh, Kresley Cole, Jacqueline Frank among many others.
However, it wasn't until she purchased her first e-reader that her literary library added a new shelf. She was welcomed into the world of Indie Writers with open arms. Her first trip down the self-published lane came in the early days of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, followed quickly by Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia, Love Unscripted by Tina Reber and Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens and was astounded that books as amazing as these originated from self-published authors. Then it came... the Amazon Kindle one-click frenzy that spiralled to the point of no return, and what catapulted her into the world of book reviewing.
"In all honesty, I never set out to read and review books. I had reviewed books in the past on Amazon, but I didn't understand anything about blogging. The only book reviews I had ever seen, besides customer reviews, had been in the national papers. Then one day, I stumbled upon Goodreads, and well...the rest is history."
History indeed! Goodreads opened up a whole new world for Kelly, not only did it help her communicate with likeminded individuals who share the same passion she does, but it gave her an outlet to test her reviewing skills. It was soon thereafter that she started receiving more friend requests and positive feedback for her reviews that she realised this was fast becoming a new passion that ran concurrently alongside the old one. Reading. In able to merge the two together it gave her a new vocation to add to the favourite hobby checklist.
It wasn't until Kelly was invited onto a Facebook hosted book club page by a writer friend, Kahlen Aymes, that she met Elizabeth. The two girls quickly formed close friendships and alas, Perusing Princesses was born.
"Now, with the launch of our first Book Blogging Website, Elizabeth and I are hoping to give back to those writers. Their stories have seen us through some great times, dark times and sad times, yet they have continued to stay with us and further fuel our passion for reading, so it's only right we help them were we can, and give something back in return. If one review sells only one book, then its all been worth it."
