Book 3 in The Devil's Dust series. This can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend you read the previous books and Novellas in the series to give you a greater understanding of the characters and the backdrop.

Bobby, Road Captain of The Devil's Dust MC and all around man-whore has a thing with Jessica, otherwise known as Doc. It is never more than a booty call and Doc is always gone by morning. It is a relationship that works for both of them... or does it? Bobby loves women and women love Bobby. Surely it's a win-win? Bobby gets to play the field without commitment and the hassle that comes from having an Old lady - except something about Jessica gets to him. She is the only woman who challenges him and he is fascinated by her.
What happens when the playboy doesn't want to play any more?
Jessica owes the MC her life. 6 years ago, having taken her 3 year daughter and run away from her seriously abusive husband, she turned to an MC; the only place she thought could offer them protection. That protection doesn't come cheap though, but being the clubs go-to Doctor is a small price to pay for the freedom she now has. If only her mind could be as free. Even after all these years, Jessica struggles with the memories of the past, the scars that lay within her and the fear that holds her back from making any commitments. Bobby is her weakness, but one that she keeps at arms length. She cannot get too close and be sucked into his world and the control that bikers have over their women. If only she could cut the cord that tethers them together for good.
Okay, so I'm not going to wax lyrical about this amazing addition to an amazing series. I'm not going to drone on about the superb writing, the character development, storyline and the general atmospheric genius that is this book, indeed this series. I have said it all before. This book only cements M.N Forgy's dominance in a popular and notoriously hard genre to get right.
What I am going to say is that this book didn't disappoint at all. I have waited for Bobby's story since I first met him. He has always been the character that has added the light relief to a series that has pretty heavy duty storylines. I love the direction M.N went with his book. It felt more of a personal journey for both Bobby and Jessica, a story of learning to love again, trusting others and burying fear of the past and the future. Don't get me wrong, there are threats and serious ones at that, but the club politics that took centre stage in the first 2 books takes more of a back seat. I think that was important for these characters. Their story is the relationship, the way it has evolved between them over 6 years and the personal struggles they both have. It also makes the series diverse. It would be easy to go the same route as Shadow and Dani's books, but it wouldn't have been the the best route. Well done Ms Forgy for giving us something different.
An amazing addition to an already brilliant series. This series is a MUST READ for lovers of this genre. It is at times hard hitting, but the bond that Bobby and Jessica have makes this book what it is... A true love story!
