Review: Appealed
Appealed by Emma Chase
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Brent Mason and Kennedy Randolph. She is the awkward geeky girl next door, He is the cute nerdy lifelong friend. They grew up together in a very privileged life, having each other to make things bearable. They each pined for each other while their friendship grew in their youth... then, due to circumstances beyond their control after finally opening their hearts to each other, they are torn apart.
Kennedy goes awol for years... she is shattered and needs to get away from Brent. Brent is broken hearted, and innocent in what happened. He never forgets her and she never forgets him. When destiny plays a part in their lives and brings them together, can they get over the hurt and remember the love, the fun, the friendship?
I have really missed reading Emma Chase. I love her other books, and had forgotten what an amusing breath of fresh air it is to read her. She is beyond witty and I was laughing so hard with the verbal play between Brent and Kennedy, and especially all the silliness that is Brent in his mind! Emma always writes original stories, with real characters that you just can't help but fall for!
Can not wait for the next one!!

Kingpin by Lili St. Germain

OMFG!!! LILI I FREAKING LOVE/HATE YOU!!
Jesus H. Christ my heart and soul have been thrown in a Ninja Blender. My Mind is reeling.
You are a writing phenomenon and the fact that you can make my heart turn black and lifeless when it comes to Dornan mother fucking Ross, then in 2 books... you make my heart bleed and my soul hurt for the one man I have hated like no other!!! I Hate you LILI!!! My heart can't take it... seriously... this man is vile.. He is the devil incarnate. The things he did to Juliette, to his own son... OMG to Mariana... just NO!!! NO NO NO NOOOO!!
You can't do this to me... to us... we love you... we wait on baited breath for your next book... we stalk.. we praise, and then YOU! make Dornan Ross into a human being.... Show us he is actually a living breathing man, who does vile vile omg.. throw up vile things because he has no choice... because he chose to protect Mariana, because his children are his world.
Omgaaaaaaawd!!!! Dornan Ross has a heart... his soul hurts... he is a broken man who is just trying to survive and have some sort of semblance of beauty in his life.... have someone who actually loves him... be able to love back. I am broken... i just can't deal with this beast having beauty... wanting him to have more...
Who do you think you are Lili??? I love you babe... truly I do.. but this is Mind-fuck-ery at its best... and you just love doing this to us!
When do I get the next one??? because.. this one... that ending... I can't wait to read the next one at the same time I am terrified because I know... I just know because this is how evil you are Lili... you are crushing me with the next book... there will be no light at the end of the tunnel... no life to be shocked into my cold, dead heart... my soul will be filleted, and there is not a damn thing I can do.. because I need the next book like my lungs need air.....

Review: First Touch
First Touch by Laurelin Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Emily Wayworn is an actress and former party girl/gold digger.
She was a part of a wanton duo with her BFF. After parting ways with her BFF she continues with her life and strives to make things better. Years later, she receives a message on her machine... its from her BFF... and she uses her code phrase that means she is in some serious trouble.
Emily pretty much drops everything, hires an investigator, and gets involved with the investigation herself. She never expected to get wrapped up into the life her BFF was into, and especially never planned on falling for the same guy who was last with her BFF. Destiny is a beotch right??
There is some serious plot twists with lots of shock and awe in this story. And the hotness factor is through the roof! Right when Laurelin Paige gets you hooked, and I mean hooked like you need your next fix.. BAM! You get hit with a cliffy to shock all cliffies!!
Moth to a flame... I NEED THE NEXT BOOK YESTERDAY!!

Review: The Storm
The Storm by Samantha Towle
My rating: 0 of 5 stars
Jake Wether and his soulmate Tru have everything! They survived their storm and have come out of it more in love and happier than should be legal. This is the time they are basking in the sunlight with their children, friends and family... sigh!
One thing you know about weather though is that there is always another storm brewing....
Will this Storm be the one that they won't survive?? Will it destroy everything in its path?? Or can the tempest that is coming, although by all accounts predictably disastrous, actually unite them like never before?
Get your rain gear and get ready to face The Storm!

Review: A Merry Last Hangman Christmas
A Merry Last Hangman Christmas by Muriel Garcia
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
What a great round up of all our favorite Last Hangman bikers and their women!!
sweet little story with lots of laughs, shopping and some awwwwwww sigh-y moments!!
It was really great to see all of them at such a great place together (or still getting there) especially after the roller coaster rides that were each of their stories.
Really a must read if you have read the books... it was like real whip cream on top of hot chocolate type of read!!

Review: Lawless
Lawless by T.M. Frazier
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
OMG!!! Bear... mine.. just mine... everyone get away!!!
T.M. Frazier has shredded us and put us back together with King, Tyrant, and now Lawless.... and she has left us without a soul with the ending of this book!
She has gone to a level of OMFGAAAWD that only few authors ever venture and even less play it off successfully! love love love this story...
I will not go nuts and write a huge review, I can not reveal a single thing as you have to experience this completely on your own.... what I will say is this...
A chance meeting with a young girl and a bad ass biker entwined their lives in a way no one would have ever guessed... Destiny is a temptress you do not disrespect... she will cause circumstances so traumatic and she doesn't give a shit! That one little meeting that should have never happened, causes a string of events so epic that you will be left with a gaping wound to your soul!!
READ THIS NOW!!! (right after King and Tryant of course!)

Review: Indebted Epilogue
Indebted Epilogue by Pepper Winters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This amazing epilogue was the balm to my dark wounds....
Pepper has driven us on every emotional roller coaster at least a couple of times with this story.
She has been the lone conductor on the crazy train... been the enchanted weaver in this intricate tale.
She has made us bleed... body heart and soul.
But in this beautiful epilogue, she gives us beauty... she gives us happy.
And being Pepper, she teases us with more!
again... breathless both with the ending of this story,
and in anticipation of the other ones...

Review: Final Debt
Final Debt by Pepper Winters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This Princess again bows down to the queen of darkness....
That moment your reading, and your fave twisted and dark author shocks the crap out of you!!!
Which is not an easy task when it comes to the twisted Queen of Darkness Pepper Winters!!!
She has written levels of dark, and hot, and OMG WTF?! that you think.. she can't top this!!!
And hot damn when you are proven wrong... she can top herself!!
Omg.... I swear this series has had me on pins and Needles the entire time... I have not craved a series more than I have this one... Pepper is at her best when she is dishing out her very detailed and tortured words. She has you living every second of pain and fear. She literally has you hanging be a Thread over a canyon and you believe in your soul she will let you go and you are lost forever! But no! She pulls you up on that thread and delivers your soul back into the world of the living over and over and over! I swear, I have felt like Nila and endured the debts as well.
Jethro and Nila very miraculously find there way back from hell and back so many times... It is just insane. Every time you think.. this is the end.. they can't survive this... whether it be physical or emotional pain, Pepper brings you back from the dark, and you can take a small breath.

Review: Midnight Mass
Midnight Mass by Sierra Simone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Heaven Help Me.... It's Father Bell....Forgive me for I have sinned...
Sierra continues with life after the church with Poppy and Tyler Bell....
This is years later as he is finishing his studies, and Poppy has her successful studio.
All is wonderful... right??
Well of course life will get into the way of any marriage, even one that was anointed with "Holy Oil"... literally...lol
Even with the divine marriage that Poppy and Tyler have... there are definitely some ups and downs... stresses that come in to any marriage.
Tyler is finishing his dissertation and has not been a dedicated husband... Poppy is in the throes of organizing a gala for her studio and her wonderful and handsome assistant is right by her side...
This leads us to a very real and poignant life they are leading, and Tyler living with his guilt and failures he has placed on himself, add in some serious jealousy and you get some serious, emotional angst and beyond the norm (even for them) hot hot scenes!!
Can I just say that Father Bell is one of my all time fave BFF's... yeah.. just typing that should get me zapped by lightening!

Review: Reap
Reap by Tillie Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Just when you think Raze was the epiphany of dark romance awesomeness, this sequel comes along and knocks you flat out with awe. Tillie Cole does it again!!!
There are times when you just want to leave the contemporary romance behind for a while and dive head first into a dark, gritty, twisted and shocking read, and Tillie Cole never fails to deliver. Her imagery may be violent and somewhat shocking but her deliverance is faultless to the point that no matter how hard some scenes may affect you emotionally, mentally it is impossible to just shut down and shy away from. Every aspect of this series is raw to the point of pain but there is no denying its alluring pull as you witness the most scarred souls rise from the ashes and take control of their own destiny that up until this point has been stolen via gruesome violence and brainwashing tactics.
I feared Raze but I fell in love with his character in the first book, just as I did with the dynamics of finding that love that was so cruelly lost so many years ago. His need for revenge was what drove his story forward and reconnecting with his lost love gave his story a touch of innocence and warmth in a caged world so cold. To reconnect with his character and see how far he has come was a wonder to behold, but to know that his moral code of seek, protect, repay a blood debt in his friend’s honour by saving his incarcerated Brother made this sequel well and truly epic. How does she do it? Tillie goes from strength to strength, her books are on par every single time and I am in awe of the way she can take such broken characters and nurture them, give them a voice, a purpose, and a worthy love that has the power to conquer all.
This story surpassed any expectations I may have unconsciously had because in all honesty it completely floored me. Think Romeo and Juliet, the love of two families at war – mortal enemies that were never destined to meet, and that will give you some idea of what is in store for Talia Tolstaia and Zaal Kostava. I’m not saying this is a tragic love story because the actions that lead Talia and Zaal together are one of respect and brotherhood, but my goodness, this is no easy ride.
Raze… Oh how I adore thee, as he brings the enemy into the home of his Father and shows the Russian Bratva what it means to respect and to honour. Going against everything he was taught, he proves that a name is but a name, but a promise is worth more than a thousand men when it comes to fulfilling it and paying homage to a man who truly set him free.
The synopsis covers just enough of this story without giving too much away so I’m going to respect that and leave my review here, but if you are looking for a dark romance read that will stay with you long after the final page, then you cannot go wrong with this series.
‘You are for me’. My favourite reads of 2015!

Review: Say Nothing...
Say Nothing... by T.A. Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
OMG... well Say Something ended with a mega intense cliffy!!! And Say Nothing starts off at exactly that scene... you know the one.. the scene where you had the breath knocked out of you!
We have Ari and Ben again, in this intensely dramatic and hot story where Ari's past has come front and center in her life and threatens the happiness she knows. She is passed out with Ben freaking out, knowing about Ari's trauma, and sooooooooo not aware that this nightmare is back! Ben loves Ari, and wants her to heal, and convinces her to go to counseling... but how do you heal when your living in fear? And to top it all off Ben gets whisked away across the pond for weeks... leaving Ari vulnerable, unprotected and hopeless. Can Ben save her this time when her creeper is back in the picture?
OMG.. Ms. Roth really sets it up to keep you on the edge of your seat throughout this book. OMG... well Say Something ended with a mega intense cliffy!!!
She takes your breath away in fear in one scene, only to take it away again in the holy hotness that is Ben.... Mad skills this specimen has.. let me tell you!

Excerpt: Final Debt
“READY TO DIE, Nila?”
Cut’s voice physically hurt me as he forced me to my knees. The ballroom splendour mocked me as I bowed unwillingly at the feet of my executioner.
Velvet and hand-stitched crewel on the walls glittered like the diamonds the Hawks smuggled—a direct contrast to the roughly sawn wood and crude craftsmanship of the guillotine dais. No finesse. No pride. Just a raised podium, framework cushioning a large tarnished blade, and a rope dangling to the side.
“Don’t do this. Cut…think about what you’ve become. You can stop this.” My voice mimicked a beg but I’d vowed not to beg. I’d seen things, understood things, and suffered things I never thought I would be able to endure. I refused to cry or grovel. I wouldn’t give him that satisfaction.
“In five minutes, this will all be over, Weaver.” Cut bent to the side and collected a wicker basket.
The wicker basket.
I didn’t want to think about what its contents would be.
He placed it on the other side of the wooden block.
My lungs demanded more oxygen. My brain demanded more time. And my heart…it demanded more hope, more life, more love.
I’m not ready.
Not like this.
“Cut—”
“No. No more talking. Not after everything you’ve done.” Ripping a black hood from his pocket, he didn’t hesitate. No fanfare. No second guesses.
I cried out as the scratchy blackness engulfed my face, tightening by a cord around my throat.
The Weaver Wailer chilled me. The diamond collar that’d seen what I’d seen and whispered with phantoms of my slain family prepared to revoke its claim and detach from around my neck.
This was it.
The Final Debt.
Cut pushed my shoulders forward.
A heavy yoke settled over the top of my spine.
I closed my eyes.
I said goodbye.
…
I waited to die.
One Week Earlier
“NO!”
I pushed back, gripping the handrails of the private jet, throwing my weight against Daniel’s incessant pushing. “Stop!”
“Get up the fucking stairs, Weaver.” Daniel jabbed his elbow into my spine.
I stumbled, bashing my knee against the high tread. “You can’t do this!” How had this happened? How had mere hours turned the entire universe against me? Again.
I wanted to smash every clock. Tear out the cog from every watch.
Time had once again stolen my life.
Jethro!
Daniel cackled. “I think you’ll find we can.” He shoved me higher.
My heart hurt—as if every mile between us and Hawksridge was a blade slicing me further from Jethro’s protection—a disharmony in an already discorded symphony.
One moment, I’d been love-bruised and adored, tiptoeing back into the Hall; the next, I was trapped, forced to dress in jeans and a hoodie, and obey Daniel as he lurked in my doorway, barking orders to pack a few meagre belongings.
He hadn’t left me alone.
His eyes followed my every move. I couldn’t grab the gun I’d hidden thanks to Jasmine. I couldn’t text Jethro to tell him I’d been caught. All I could do was run around my room with my lover’s release still damp on my inner thighs and submit to my nemesis.
The only saving grace was beneath Daniel’s hateful stare, I’d managed to pack the clothing I’d altered a few weeks ago. The cuffs full of needles and hems armoured with tools of my seamstress trade. Those garments were my only hope. There was no loophole. No way to refuse.
I had to trust Jasmine would get word to Jethro. That he would come for me…
Before it’s too late.
The desolation I’d suffered when Daniel first caught me faded to indignant anger. I’d been so close to being free. I’d been in Jethro’s arms. I’d been away from his psychotic family. My heart hardened a little toward Jethro for making me go back.
Why? Why did you send me back?
I didn’t know if I’d have the courage to forgive him.
You know why. And you will. Of course, you will.
I couldn’t hate him because I wasn’t selfish. He’d sent me back to protect all of us. Those precious few who’d accepted him and he’d accepted in return. Love was the worst enemy, winding its commitment, ensuring no freedom when it came to clearheaded thinking of adversity.
Jethro loved too much. Felt too much. Suffered too much. And his siblings would be our downfall. Kestrel and Jasmine relied on him—just like I did. The responsibility of settling his family’s wrongs was a terrible burden to bear.
But he’s not alone.
I might’ve been stolen. Jethro’s plans to save me might be ruined. But I was still alive. Still breathing. I wasn’t the naïve girl who’d first arrived at Hawksridge. I was a woman in love with a Hawk. A Weaver who would draw Hawk blood.
It’s not over…
Pain exploded in my spine as Daniel stabbed me with his fist. “Get in the fucking airplane.”
“No!” I threw myself backward, looking frantically at the private hangar. We weren’t at Heathrow, but a small, private airfield called Turweston. “I won’t!”
No strangers I could call for help.
No police or air marshals.
When Daniel had stalked me from my room and shoved me outside, Cut had been waiting. With a victorious smile, he’d stuffed me in the back of a limousine.
With a purring engine, we’d pulled away from Hawksridge, tyres crunching on gravel as we followed the long driveway off the estate.
My eyes had scoured the trees, their silhouettes growing stronger as the sun tinted the sky with pink blushes. Daniel and Cut sat opposite me, toasting each other with a chilled bottle of champagne. However, I hadn’t been alone on my side of the limo—I had a guard.
Marquise, Bonnie’s damn henchman, sat beside me; a mountain of muscle, unyielding and impenetrable.
“Come along.” A strange voice raised my gaze.
A man in a captain’s uniform smiled from the top of the aircraft steps. The private plane’s fuselage glinted in graphite grey. Sparkling diamonds, inlaid in the shape of a windswept ribbon, decorated the tail.
“I don’t want to leave England.”
Daniel laughed behind me. “Like you have a choice.”
“I always have a choice, Buzzard.” I glowered over my shoulder. “Just like this choice of yours will not end well for you.”
If I don’t kill you, Jethro will.
As far as Daniel knew, his slain brother was supposedly rotting in some unmarked grave. Jethro was right. The element of surprise trumped any of Cut and Daniel’s grand delusions.
He snarled, “Watch it, bitch. Everything you say to me here will be paid in full when we’re there.”
“Now, now. No need for threats.” The captain climbed down a rung, holding out his hand. “She’ll get on board. Won’t you, my dear? No need to be afraid of flying. I have an exemplary record.” White hair tufted from either side of his pristine flying cap. In his mid-fifties, he looked fit and toned and impatient to take off.
“I can’t leave.”
I can’t be so far from Jethro.
The captain smiled, waving at his vessel. “Of course, you can. Plus, I bet you’ve never travelled in such style.”
“It’s nothing against your mode of transport. It’s the destination I disagree to. I’m staying here.” I dug my heels into the metal grate, fighting against Daniel’s perpetual pushing. “I don’t have my passport, visa… I can’t travel across borders, so you might as well let me return home.”
Home.
Had Hawksridge Hall become my home?
No, don’t be absurd.
But Jethro had. It didn’t matter where we ended up. What we did for work. How our lives panned out. As long as I was alive with Jethro by my side…I would be home.
“Don’t fuss about that.” The captain waved his hand in invitation. “Travel is good for the soul.”
Not my soul.
Travel meant my soul would become untethered from my body, thanks to Cut and the Final Debt.
The sun barely peeked over the horizon, hidden by soupy fog and reluctant night. The world refused to warm, unable to shed the morning frost or dislodge the claws of winter. England didn’t want to say goodbye as much as I did, its reluctant dawn wanting me to stay.
“If you don’t get on the motherfucking plane in two seconds, Weaver, you’ll live to regret it,” Daniel growled.
I glared at the youngest Hawk. “Haven’t you learned by now your threats don’t scare me?”
Forcing myself to stand taller, I hid the quaking in my bones, the quivering in muscles, the rampant terror scurrying in my blood. “I know where you want to take me, and I refuse.”
Daniel pinched the bridge of his nose. A second later, he cuffed me on the back of the head. “Behave!”
I gritted my teeth against the wash of agony.
“Almasi Kipanga is a fucking treat for the likes of you, Weaver. Get on your knees and show some goddamn appreciation. Otherwise, I’ll rip out your fucking tongue and ensure peace for the rest of the trip.”
“Ah, as I said, there’s no need for violence.” The captain took another step, prying my hand off the railing and tugging me upward. “Come along, my dear. Let’s get you inside. And don’t you worry about visas and things. Leave it to me. Airport control won’t be an issue.”
Vertigo cast the world in monochromatic greys as I swayed toward the captain. “But—”
Cut barrelled past Daniel—reaching the end of his patience. Grabbing my arse, he shoved me upward, forcing me like unwilling livestock up the final steps. “I have your passport, Nila. Get on the plane.” His breath skated over the back of my neck. “And don’t think about refusing again. Got it?”
Gripping the fuselage, I looked over my shoulder. “My passport? How did you—”
He waved a black binder in my face. “Everything is in here. You have no more excuses, and I won’t ask again. Get on the fucking plane or I’ll knock you out and you can wake up when we get there.”
